I love baking! I really do. I sit all day (at work) and dream of what I should make for pudding, or what treat I should bake later. I seldom actually make half of what I dream up. Then there is my love for design… I get to design all day. It’s my job. My real job.
Yesterday I got a request to design a Christmas poster…YIP, you read right! CHRISTMAS POSTERS – in september! Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE christmas, heck I may even be its biggest fan, but it just caught me by surprise this year! I think Christmas: I think family, food, holidays, summer and sea. Here is SA we may not have a white Christmas, but we do have borewors, biltong and braais (which make up for it :) )
SO when looking for inspiration for the poster, I downloaded a vector with this little cute guy...
....and some other really cute characters and just had to use them, so I made this set of cards
...and these tags...
..and because Christmas is all about giving....
I thought these would really add cheer to the build up to this wonderful season. ReplyDeleteWhat I love the most about Christmas is actually wrapping the presents. It is so exciting to select those gorgeous papers and bows and make the boxes so pretty that you don't even want to open. And when I get to finish my Christmas shopping earlt enough they make for great decorations under the Christmas tree !!!!

ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about Christmas is decorating the house with all the things we keep from year to year, and the new things we've created that year. We pull out Keith's fully wooden stable with a huge varnished wooden "plaque" that say's "The King Is Born", set up the sides of the "stable", grab Caiti's doll (baby Jesus) and we even have a manger Keith made! Then it's putting up all the cards, tinsel LIGHTS! LOVE LIGHTS! All over the verandah too so all the neighbours can see :-)Caleb brings out all his Christmas art (usually including a new star) and it all gets put up. Then my all time favourite - getting together with ALL the family and enjoying the cloud of wrapping paper as the kids go wild. OOOH! I love Christmas...(can you tell?)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about Christmas? Oh wow, tough. Celebrating the birth of Jesus, and what that means is my favorite part. Next to that, I LOVE all the Christmas baking :)
